Complying Development Certificate

Complying Development Certificate (CDC), an alternative to a Development Application and Construction Certificiate, is a fast-tracked approval for developments that meet specific standards in the State Environment Planning Policy. 

Approval is provided by a qualified Private Certifier. An application for a new dwelling, or dwelling addition, under a Complying Development Certificate must be determined within 10 days.

Complying Development Certificates are available for a range of development types, including:

• Single and double storey houses
• Secondary dwellings
• Multi residential development
• Renovations of an existing house
• Swimming pools
• Retaining walls
• Fences
• Demolition of a structure/building
• Advertising Signage
• Fit out of a commercial building

Unlike the Development Application process, Complying Development is not merit based, all applications must satisfy all requirements for approval.
